Definition
Zero is the number that represents nothing or no quantity. It is an important placeholder in our number system.
Zero is like an empty basket. There is nothing inside, but the basket itself still exists and holds a place.
Examples
- 5 + 0 = 5 (adding zero does not change a number).
- 5 - 5 = 0.
- In the number 105, the zero holds the tens place.
