Width

Definition

Width is the measurement of how wide something is from side to side. It is the shorter dimension of a rectangle.

Examples

  • The width of a door is about 3 feet.
  • A rectangle 8 cm long and 5 cm wide has a width of 5 cm.
  • The width of a piece of paper is 8.5 inches.
