Whole Number

Definition

A whole number is any of the counting numbers along with zero: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on. Whole numbers have no fractions or decimals.

Examples

  • 0, 1, 2, 3, 100, and 5,000 are all whole numbers.
  • 3.5 is NOT a whole number because it has a decimal part.
  • 1/2 is NOT a whole number because it is a fraction.
