Vertex

Definition

A vertex is a point where two sides of a shape meet to form an angle. The plural of vertex is vertices.

Vertices are the corners of a shape. If you ran your finger along the edges of a triangle, you would feel three pointy corners, which are the three vertices.

Examples

  • A triangle has 3 vertices.
  • A rectangle has 4 vertices.
  • A pentagon has 5 vertices.
