Definition
Subtraction is the operation of taking one number away from another to find the difference. It is the opposite of addition.
Imagine you have a group of objects and you take some away. The number left over is the difference.
Examples
- 9 - 4 = 5.
- 50 - 23 = 27.
- 100 - 100 = 0.
