Square

Definition

A square is a special rectangle where all four sides are the same length and all four angles are right angles (90 degrees).

A square is the most regular quadrilateral. Every side is the same length and every corner is a perfect right angle.

Examples

  • A checkerboard is made of small squares.
  • A square with side length 5 has an area of 25 square units.
  • A square with side 3 cm has a perimeter of 12 cm.
