Proper Fraction

Definition

A proper fraction is a fraction where the numerator is smaller than the denominator. A proper fraction is always less than 1.

Examples

  • 1/2 is a proper fraction because 1 < 2.
  • 3/4 is a proper fraction because 3 < 4.
  • 7/10 is a proper fraction because 7 < 10.
