Definition
A pie chart is a circular graph divided into slices to show how a whole is split into parts. Each slice represents a fraction or percentage of the total.
Imagine cutting a pizza into different-sized slices. Each slice shows how much of the total belongs to that category. The bigger the slice, the larger its share.
Examples
- A pie chart of a daily schedule: school 30%, sleep 35%, free time 20%, meals 15%.
- A bigger slice means a larger portion of the whole.
- All the slices together make up 100%.
