Definition
A mixed number combines a whole number and a proper fraction. It shows a value that is more than one whole but not a complete next whole.
Examples
- 1 1/2 means one whole and one half.
- 2 3/4 is the same as the improper fraction 11/4.
- 3 1/3 means three wholes and one third more.
