Line

Grades 2–5

Definition

A line is a straight path that extends forever in both directions. It has no endpoints and is usually drawn with arrows on both ends.

Think of a line as a perfectly straight road that never ends in either direction. You can travel along it forever.

Examples

  • A line through points A and B extends infinitely in both directions.
  • Railroad tracks can represent parallel lines.
  • A line has no thickness, only length that goes on forever.
