Cardinal Number

Grades K–2

Definition

A cardinal number tells how many of something there are. It is used for counting, not for ordering.

Examples

  • There are 7 days in a week (7 is a cardinal number).
  • She has 3 cats.
  • We counted 25 students in the class.
