Angle

Grades 3–5

Definition

An angle is formed when two rays share a common endpoint called the vertex. Angles are measured in degrees.

Think of an angle as the amount of turn between two lines that meet at a point, like the hands of a clock.

Examples

  • A square corner makes a 90-degree angle.
  • Opening a book halfway creates an angle.
  • A full turn around is 360 degrees.
